About situational awareness

Aircraft-level situational awareness is a complex topic. Without external application, it’s not always achievable for every aircraft.

There are ways to approach it, and I’m constantly testing them, but I prefer being clear: some aircraft may not support full item-level awareness. Still, I’m doing everything I can to make it work wherever possible.

Enhanced Plugins

The enhanced plugins provide SDK variables for most of the interactable items in the cabins. This makes possible to build up a 99% situational aware checklist.

The benefit of this level of situational awareness is that the checklist can reflect the actual situation of the cockpit. This is especially beneficial in the minimized mode, because turning the switch to the desired position auto-advances the checklist without the need of clicking on the item.

Standard Plugins

The developers of the standard plugins (typically Asobo) hide the SDK variables. It is not possible to provide fully situational aware checklist for those aircrafts, relying solely on the general simulator variables. The partial access makes the experience worse, so I chose to remove the plugin-level situational awareness for these aircraft.

Although checklist item level situational awareness is not provided for these plugins, they still have the same detailed checklist as their enhanced counterparts.

Also, phase level situational awareness (like reaching a given altitude) is still implemented.
